One of the seminal thinkers of the Middle Ages and the Early Reformation era.

One of the giants of the early reformation era. A book that will drive you to want to know more about Erasmus and his role in the history of the middle ages. He was one of the most widely known thinkers of the late 1400's and early 1500's, and his debates with Martin Luther over free will are legendary. You will be surprised to learn how many sayings in common use today originated with Erasmus. He was a friend of Thomas More through whom he was introduced to Prince Henry who was to become Henry VIII. If you are interested in the Middle Ages, and the early Reformation era this is a great introduction to the deeper history of the era that Erasmus influenced.
